The UTS Tour has confirmed Félix Auger-Aliassime and Leo Borg for its season-ending Super Stage in Gothenburg. They join Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Bublik, Brandon Nakashima, and Luciano Darderi in the seven-player field announced for the $1 million event. One final competitor will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The two-day UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas event is scheduled for December 12-13 at the Scandinavium arena. The winner can earn up to $511,000 and the UTS Year-End World No. 1 title. The field includes three players with Top 5 pedigree: Rune, Tsitsipas, and Auger-Aliassime. Bublik is a Top 10 player, while Nakashima and Darderi are rising Top 20 stars.

Auger-Aliassime brings 'King of the sudden death' form to Sweden

Félix Auger-Aliassime arrives with significant momentum. The Canadian, now at a career-high world No. 4, won the Bastide UTS Nîmes in April in front of a sold-out crowd of 13,000. That performance, where he defeated Grigor Dimitrov, Andrey Rublev, and Casper Ruud in sudden death matches, earned him the nickname 'King of the sudden death'.

2026 has been his strongest season. It includes quarter-final appearances at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon and a title in Montpellier, his eighth career trophy. "Winning the Zeus trophy in Nîmes was one of the most thrilling experiences of my year," Auger-Aliassime said. He added that he is coming to Gothenburg to chase the year-end title, noting Nakashima's victory at UTS Rio in July makes him a serious rival.

Leo Borg set for home debut with legendary father watching

Leo Borg will make his UTS debut on home soil. The 23-year-old from Stockholm is a local hope and fan favourite. His father, 11-time Grand Slam champion and 1975 Davis Cup hero Björn Borg, will be present at Scandinavium to support him and the return of top-level tennis to Sweden.

The younger Borg has ATP Tour wins against Elias Ymer in Båstad in 2023 and Sebastian Ofner at the Stockholm Open in 2025. "Playing in front of the Swedish fans against some of the best players in the world is a huge opportunity, and I can’t wait," Leo Borg stated. He highlighted the UTS format as being built to create emotion for players and crowd alike.

Format and high stakes for December climax

The competition structure is designed for a fast-paced climax. Day one features the four quarter-final matches. Day two builds to the finale with classification matches, semi-finals, and the final-five matches in total to crown the champion and settle the year-end standings.
