Venus Williams, a seven-time grand slam champion, has suffered a significant setback in her tennis career. The 46-year-old, currently ranked 615th, was defeated by Colombian Emilia Arango in the first round of the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Masters.
Arango handed Williams a 6-2, 6-2 defeat in 66 minutes, marking the 14th straight loss for the American tennis player. Williams was given a wild card entry into the event, where she reached the semi-finals a dozen years ago. Despite this, she has struggled this season, losing 11 times while competing on organizer free entries.
The Cincinnati Masters is the last major warm-up event prior to the US Open, which begins on 30 August. The tournament has drawn significant interest, particularly in the men's draw, where 2017 winner Grigor Dimitrov and 2022 runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas are competing.
## Dimitrov's Disappointing Exit
Dimitrov, a 35-year-old Bulgarian tennis player, was bidding for his first Cincinnati victory in five years. However, he was unable to hold onto a 4-1 lead in the third set against Argentine Sebastian Baez, ultimately losing 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Dimitrov's ranking has dropped to 138, and he was playing on a wild card entry.

## Tsitsipas Advances to Next Round
Tsitsipas, a 35-year-old Greek tennis player, has been struggling with form in recent months. However, he managed to overcome a tough challenge from Valentin Royer of France, winning 7-6 (7/4), 7-5. Tsitsipas was broken while serving for victory, but he managed to break back and win the match in two hours.
Tsitsipas attributed his success to his aggressive playing style and composure under pressure. He admitted that he was tested at the end of the match, but managed to stay loose and play aggressively.
